AWI Virgina Militia Commander and CannonHello everyone,
I'm continuing on with my American army at Guilford Courthouse with the wet conditions of the morning of the battle.
Here is Stevens the commander of Virgina Militia ready to crush the British or at least try and keep his men from running away!

This is Finley's 6pdr. Battery/Cannon.In this scene Finley decided he wished to show up in his finest military uniform as he didn't want to make a bad impression on the British! His men however, are far more practical.

Scotland
great work axebreaker
the wood grain you have achieved is amazing
i just hope they will be able to swab out their gun with those wooden sticks they are all carrying. maybe as a militia gun they are only expecting to get one shot :)
Fantastic!!
How did you do the wood grain?
Can't wait to see you entire Guilford finished!

nice detail; love the painting. I agree with the others about the woodgrain, but I also am admiring the figures. And I agree with Finley's reasoning about his uniform ... he's an officer so he can get away with a little pomp.
@Everyone
Thank you gentlemen, your kind words of support helps keep the motivation level running high. :D

You need to ask the Perry's as they did this for Wargames Foundry.I wouldn't be surprised if that was the reasoning behind it! :P

I'm happy you liked it.I painted on the wood grain where I could see it and took some liberties where I could not. It's a tedious process, but is rewarding when completed as I like the contrast it gives. :)

That makes two of us!I just hope I finish it sometime before my 80th birthday!
he's an officer so he can get away with a little pomp.
Of course and he certainly thinks so as it's obvious he isn't helping the men any as he's afraid he might get a bit of mud on his whites. :P
Kudos to you AB, very nice painting indeed
These are outstanding, as usual. I really like the basing - it looks very realistic and is certainly a unique way of approaching a GC collection. Marvellous work, Sir! :D
Thank you everyone, your very kind. :D
