Brunswick Oels in the Peninsula
Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me what the uniform of Brunswick Oels in the Peninsula (i.e. 1812) was?
By 1812 I assume they would have been wearing some sort of variation of British uniform - but what colours?
Also, what proportion of the Brunswick Oels possessed Baker rifles?
Many thanks
Paul
Paul, think that you will find that the Oels wore the black Brunswick style uniform throughout. The Oels Jagers however wore a green jacket with light blue facings and grey trousers. Both the Blandford and Windrow books have details, plus the Oprey MAA #167
