COLUMN TARGETS
Just need to clarify the statement for column targets, In the Formations section 2.3, it states that a brigade column (Infantry) or a column of squadrons (cavalry) of 4+ ranks deep count as a column target. For cavalry this seems straight forward as cavalry are based 1 Figure deep (1 rank), so a column of squadrons consisting of 4+ squadrons deep would be a column target = 4 ranks. However if infantry are based 2 Figures deep (2 ranks) then 2 regiments one behind the other would present a target 4+ ranks deep. Or does this rule actually apply to 4+ units deep - ie 4 regiments of infantry one behind the other? Thanks :?:

PM, Or does this rule actually apply to 4+ units deep - ie 4 regiments of infantry one behind the other? Yes - when 4 or more regiments are lined up behind each other then the enitre formation is classed as a column target as well as massed! DB
