Dismounted Cavalry Ques
Hi all, I am planning a scenario around the first day of Gettysburg and have a few questions about dimounted cavalry; (i)Do dismounted cavalry in extended line count as "Close" order ? (ii)If they are close order, then opposing infantry with 'Engage' orders cannt declare a charge against them ? Thanks very much IanF

I, Extended Line is a close order formation - i.e. its not a skirmish formation. And yes, the opponent will need to be on Assault orders to charge, unless your horse soldiers become unformed, in which case they can be charged on Engage orders. DB
