Firing from buildings, Help please
Hi All
Couple of questions I would like your opinions on please.
A french 36 figure Bttn lines two sides of a BUA.
1. Can the bttn fire 2 x 20 or less from each side in the same firing phase
at different targets.(or only one side can fire each phase)
2. If one side fires and is then smoked (-2 fired last turn) Can the other 20 or less fire in the next turn and be classed as they did not fire last turn (not suffer the -2).
The French player seeems to think so and this is an exception to the rule, as they have to split the fire from BUA's.
Cheers

Kev,
Only because it's you, mate . . . 8)
1. Maximum number of firing figures per 'side' of a BUA = a) up to 50% of occupying force's figures; or b) the number of figures that can physically 'man' that side--whichever is less. E.g., if three stands of 6 figures (normal close-order in 2-ranks) physically 'fit' along one side of the BUA, then you can fire up to 18 figures out of that side.
NB: Re-read p. 31 'Firing', 'Multiple Targets' for the procedure: one dice roll for each firing unit, period; apply casualties evenly against multiple targets, etc.
2. See p. 32 of 'Firing': "If part of a unit fires then the entire unit is considered to have fired.", thus the -2 modifier (Fired Last Turn) would apply, even if the firer only issued fire from one side of the BUA.
The French player was obviously trying to 'wriggle', and get himself twice as many opportunities to get 'Double-Sixes' as he should have!
