French artillery at Minden 1759.
Can someone confirm if I`ve got this right. Ther Seven Years War Project site suggest that the French were seriously outgunned by the Allies artillery wise as they had left most of their heavies accross the river and not taken them onto the Minden plain. As we are putting on a demo of Minden at Britcon this year I am attempting to get the artillery right for both sides and the only use source I can find suggest this. But it does leave the French in a bit of a pickle. Any further information would be appreciated. PS the demo starts this Friday.

Rupert Furneaux in "The Seven Years War" (1973) doesn't describe any deficiency in French Artillery. In fact his diagram shows French batteries north and south of Hahlen opposed by the British artillery, opposing the Allied line of Prince Ferdinand drawn up between the fir woods and Stemmer and finally opposite Wangenheim and Todtenhausen. He doesn't cite any evidence. Hope the game went well. In fact tell us what happened.
