Hidden units ideas
Since I play quite a few games solo I was wondering if any members have thoughts or ideas on how to use hidden and camouflaged units while playing solo.Any suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks,
Alex
Alex,
What I tend to do is to mark all hidden units, etc with a marker or chit which is removed once the unit is spotted.
The method I employ for reconnaissance is to recon areas that are nearest the reconnoitering unit first and then move out to the next nearest and so on. I find if I stick to this method it works fairly well.

Thanks Dave.I'll give that a try.

I have two sets of 10X20mm green cards. The cards have numbers written underneath.
I put one set of cards, with, say the numbers 1-12, one on top of each of the 12 units on my shelf. The other set of cards with the numbers 1-12, I mix up with some dummy cards and deploy them on the table - so I don't know which one is which. If I do a solo game, I might have all of one side hidden to start with - that is everything that's not in line of sight.
Then, when they're spotted or fall into line of sight in the game, I can turn over the number and replace them with the unit from the shelf. When the spotter moves out of line of sight - I replace the unit with the card again. During the game I soon forget exactly what's there, making me cautious with the other side and the game full of surprises
You get odd units scattered into odd groupings this way. But I could group the cards into more logical platoons, then turn them upside down and then deploy them so's I don't know which group is which.
I put a different marker on top of some cards, to show they're more than just out of line of sight, but actually 'hidden' or in ambush camo.
