Rudorff- 02-19-2007
Rudorff;
In the end it's up to you. The spirit of the poll is to measure people's painting prowess (PPP).
My PPP is feeling smaller by the minute.
Yours,
James D. Gray
I know what you mean. I've voted in the 21-30 bracket, which was where my 25mm chaps would have been.

Well I have 9 units painted, 3 currently being painted and 12 or 13 currently in the line. I keep vowing not to acquire anymore until I have painted the ones I already have. These are all French.
This is just my Napoleonics,
In addition to these I have a stack of New Kingdom Egyptians and Hittites waiting to go. Now the new Tekumel figures from Eureka are sending me their sirens call. :D

61+, but very little figures :)
RAMCSEARCH- 02-19-2007
Not as big as I would like ! Why has nobody so far got an army of 41 to 50 units? Is this the black hole zone ? It seems that you either dabble and have 0 to 40 units or get really obsessive and have 50 + units :D

How big is your army?
Simon,
I'm here to plug that gap.
All by my own hand, and all 18mm:
18.5 bn of Prussian infantry (all in bn of 32, discounting jager and skirmishers)
5 Prussian bty
5 regt of Prussian cavalry (6 regts represented, but two are half strength)
9 bn of French Ligne
1 bn of Italian line
2 French FAB
0.5 regt of French cavalry

How large is your army?
James,
That also does not include the 4 bn I have purchased in a painted condition, or staff figures/ elements.
I suspect that the larger armies are generally of more than one scale, or of the smaller (6-10mm) variety. Not that there is anything remiss about either. Variety is the spice, as it is said.
Cheers,
Beresford

Tis true enough Beres, my 70+ units are 10mm. 80/90 to a btn tho....about 5,000 so far. And still 6,000 to paint up.....

How big is your army?
Mark,
Bloody hell  ! Even the thought of a 90 figure bn makes my head spin, let alone 70 of them! The pics you have posted have looked impressive I must say.
Is the focus of your collection any army/ campaign in particular?
Beresford

Invasion of Russia 1812 at a guess.
My collection looks more like the retreat...
MPHILLIPS- 02-20-2007
Beres,generally been Waterloo campaign,but at the mo I'm on with Spanish,for a bit of variety. They're easier,as only 60 figs to a btn(as in 24 fig for 15mm).
then its on with the Prussians..... :) It has to be said, altho its 60/80/90 figs a go,the painting obviously doesn't compare with some 15/25's seen on here, and so is a lot quicker. At this size, you just need the basic colour to stand out. And at times,a telescope comes in handy. French blue or prussian black....... 8)

I've got about 30 units...10 French and 20 British
Mostly Minifig and OG, painted 15+ years ago and not very well done. I'm currently replacing the British with ABs done to my current standards. I'm trying not to repaint the same units over again, but some overlap is in the plan. Not the most ideal situation, but I'm embarrased by the paint quality of the originals so must be done! :)

My problem is I always want a another nations army.
So far, I have Prussian, Spanish, Russian, French, Wurtemburg and British, but only the last three are fully rebased to GdB, the Russians partialy, and the first two I haven't started on.
The main problem is that the first two are based on 12 man battalions, so with the exception of the Landwehr, a considerable number of additional figures need painting.
I sarted painting c1971, and I still have some origional Minifigs Russian Jaegers (1 battalion) in service which I just rebased, as I did not have the heart to throw them away, after their years of service. The cavalry have gone however, they looked like they were mounted on large dogs!
At present I am 'coverting' Austrians, but so far I have disiplined myself to keep my credit card in my pocket.
Littlearmies- 02-21-2007
So far a very pitiful three units - an OG Young Guard battalion (chosen because I had the figures and the bug to paint at the same time), an Austrian 48 man line infantry battalion (a mix of AB and OO) and an Austrian 3lber battery (by BH).
Now for the ACW however.... I have to confess that I have so many I seriously need to review my OOB as I have a suspicion I may have more regiments fit to deploy than the AoP and ANV did in real life (plus huge quantities of unpainted lead) although my cavalry is understrength (well the painted is understrength but unpainted.....).

Malcolm
