Miniature Storage question
Hello,
I started Napoleonic miniatures just over a year ago and I have found it to be an enjoyable, fascinating and tedious experience. I have question regarding storage. I'm curious to know how some of you "Old Guard" store your miniatures? What have you found to be the most practical and at the same time to keep your investment safe.
Thanks,
Jeff
I have them, standing in their formations, in a glass-front cabinet. It is pretty inefficient, as I have to pack them up to take them out for wargames not at my house, but I love looking at them.

Mine all live in boxfiles. Lots and lots of boxfiles!
Magna base the bases and then I put them in Bisley filing cabinets - good for transport. Ebay is excellent place to pickup cheap second hand cabinets.
The shallow drawers (I think 2" deep) are good for all 15/18mm figures except the most exuberant cavalry standard bearers.
Miniature storage
Popular amongst our small group are a metal tool box with multiple layers that fold in above each other (a bit like a fishing tackle box), and have a convenient carrying handle. Our units are all based with magnetic sheet beneath, so they are easily transported and stored in the same boxes. Not so flash for display purposes though.
I can fit two infantry divisions and support elements in one such toolbox.
Boxfiles atm, which seem to be exactly 2mm too shallow. Aaarrgh. Thick box files appreciated. Strange fetish. Anything over the 3inch or 75mm depth. While I go trawl google.
