ochre ???? light infantry
Hello people, I am just about to paint my Volontaires Estrangers De Clemont Prince, light infantry ie skirmishers. And the painting guide says helpfully the uniform is ochre. but is that yellow or red ochre, now I assume its red but just in case does anyone out there know.

I foud various definitions of "ventre de biche" as buff-yellow; leather-yellow; watery brown; cream-coloured. I would suggest a light yellowish brown

I'd say yellow ochre. Theres an illustration of the uniform in Funckens Lace Wars (Vol 2) which shows a buff coloured coat with red facings. This is also the description given in the Armies & Uniforms of the Seven Years War (Vol 2) by Partizan Press.
