First deployment of M10 wolverine?
How early did the 8th army get their hands on these via lend-lease? First reference I can find to their use is early '43 at El Guettar, but september 1942 pops up as the start of production and 42 is the in-service date in the book.

The M10 didn't arrive with the British Army until 1944. Which unit does your source say was fighting at El Geuttar ? Alan

Evidently they were landed during Torch in late '42, but first fired in anger supporting 1st infantry division at El Guettar (elements of either the 776th or 899th US TD Batallions) Did they really not end up in British hands until '44? Or is that only the 17pdr SP. Achilles?

Alex, They weren't given to us until 44, work on putting the 17pdr into them started more or less straight away. Alan

As far as I know the M10 3" was only issued to assault divisions for D-Day and most were replaced by the end of Normandy.

3 Infantry Divison still had the M10 3" after the war while some divisions had them replaced by the M10 17 pdr or the Archer. Alan

Interesting - what weapon factors are to be used with the 3" gun (and by extension the 76mm AT gun variant)? The 2ed QRS has two separate entries for US76mm - one at 5/2, and another at 6/2 - I was assuming the latter, and also that HVAP would be more available for the AT Gun and Tank Destroyer regiments than it was for Sherman 76s.

Alex, I'm confused by your question, the M10 had the US 3in Gun , M7 which wasn't the same as the 76mm gun, M1 mounted in the Sherman. Alan

The 3" gun was 76.2mm The M5 AT gun (which I can only assume relates to the 76mm AT Gun on the US list was simply a converted 3" M5/T9 on a 105mm howitzer carriage). Since there isn't any entry for 3" guns in the charts, only for 76mm, I'm wondering which it should equate to (perhaps I'm confusing things by looking at the 2e QRS, but that has a couple of entries for US 76mm).
