horse holders
I feel that the rule of householders is over exagarated. :shock: The rules imply 1 for every 6 for horse holders when in fact the standard was 1 in every 4.
So lets say you had a 24 fig cav regt and using the 1-6 rule this will give you 20 troopers firing. Almost the whole regt and without the fear of being too weak whilst dismounted.
Using the 1-4 will give you 18 firing which gives a more realistic feel of vulnerability whilst 25% of your regt are horse holders.

Yes - the same issue was raised on TMP. Outrageous!! :lol:
There were two ratios for cavalry:- 1 in 4 and 1 in 8 depending on circumstance and whether horses were "hobbled" or whatever they do with them, GaG takes the average - thus 1 in 6.
If you feel that 1 in 4 is more appropriate for combat actions then feel free to utilise that ratio, it won't affect the game in any way.
