Matt, my outpost is stationed in the sunny little town of Ongar.
bk, the camera I use is the Nikon coolpix P4.
I take my pictures indoors and just use the two overhead fluoresent tubes which are attached to the ceiling. They are daylight tubes and not to expensive even with the postage.

I then put the pictures through colour correction wizard, again good value as it is free.
If you can take your photo's outside then this is probably the best way to go but as my stuff is all set up in the garage it is easier for me.

My brother and I have been trying to resist the Perry Napoleonics and ACW plastics so as not to distract us from building up our 15mm napoleonic armies.
My brother caved in last weekend and bought his first box of Rebels (1st of many!!!)
And now more temptation! Your painting really shows of the figures to their best. I must resist!

GJ. With the 'Army painter' I only actually tin dunked one figure, all the rest I brushed it on.
I found that dunking the figure left too much of the quick shade/varnish on for my taste, even with several good shakes of the figure.
I brushed the shade on and found that I had more control of how the figure would look doing it this way. Applying more thickly in certain areas where it was needed, whilst flesh areas and items of white or light coloured clothing/equipment you could draw off the figure with the brush.
I think initially it is a lot of trial and error with the colours you choose for the figure before you actually use the ' Army painter' which will have an effect on the finished figure.
I have tried both black and white undercoat before starting to paint the figure and for me white works best.
Flesh, I tried many different shades/brands.
Afghan flesh - Foundry dusky flesh 6c or Spearshaft 13b works well.
European flesh - I found that Foundry Flesh c has a nice effect but I opted for foundry flesh b then a very, very quick highlight of flesh c. This extra little touch is well worth the effort.
I also do two shades on black, Foundry black a and b, otherwise the army painter does not show through on this colour.
If I give any colour a highlight before using the army painter, it is done very quickly and non to fussy as the shade will cover up any little mistakes.
I will post some pictures to this thread in the near future to show some of the results you get. I have completed a 16 x man British unit for the AWI in about a quarter the time of what it would have normally taken me. They are not perfect as they were a trial and error unit, but practice makes perfect.

ah - yes, brushing it on does seem to make more sense than dunking the little guys... the pliers photo of the process in the advert should carry the caption 'Do you expect me to talk?'
Less sticky too for when they inevitably fall in :D
I am intrigued (I have a pile of unpainted Arabs to oppose my Foreign Legion sideline and would welcome a shortcut) so look forward to your demonstration pix
