I started with infantry support using a Gepanzerte Panzergrenadier platoon.I used a mix of Pea Dot,Oak Leaf and a few in German Fieldgrey trousers. I hope some of you enjoy the pics. :) Of Note:The idea is they are conducting operations through a village with some crumbling walls showing and the cobblestone streets are a bit overgrown.This will be the theme for my whole army.We are fighting Late War Normandy at our club. Here are some Nebelwerfer 41's and HQ+spotters.I added more crew in German Fieldgray unforms to the mix of camo to show they are in a more supporting role then actual frontline troops. This is my third part for this thread.This is my first attempt at painting vechicles.They are 3 Sd Kfz 250's and 1 Sd Kfz 250/9 that was sent on accident,that I then decided to use as my command track as it stands out from the others. I Like my vechicles dirty and worn,but not muddy at 15mm,because I don't think it turns out at this size very well.It was a real challenge painting them,because it's very different from what I normally do.I block painted them and did some controled dry brushing, black lining,and a very little bit of ink. I decided on an ambush camo scheme that I have always found to be very interesting. I experimented with lighting throughout this thread,so please excuse the different shades. :rolleyes: Perhaps, if you have time you could tell me which pics looked the best and any pointers. :)

Very nice. Specially like the infantry bases and the adhoc nature of the inf; plus the camo and leaf cover on the HTs.

Excellent stuff! Particularly like your infantry camouflage - knowing 15mm, I know how difficult it is to detail the models.

These look fantastic! Very well done. The camo looks perfect and I like that you mixed it up with the gray trousers -- nice detail. Oh, and the little eagle insignias are great! Note: You might want to gut that first post to shorten the scroll down to see the goodies.

Axebreaker, Very impressive camo on the infantry - it is very easy to forget these little guys are only 15mm tall. I'm struggling to get any "pop" with just feldgrau on my EW chaps I'm doing at the moment. Well done indeed. malcolm

Splendid stuff AB, particuarly like the Nebelwerfers and the shoulder eagles. The camoflage is damn finely carried off. Muddy bases seem to be your trade mark! If I had to nit-pick the bricks may be a tad over-red? but colour composition wise they work as a couterpoint so... Keep it up. Good to see an allegedly 'less colourful' period on the gallery. GJ

Thank you for the compliments on both threads,it helps keep the spirit up. :D You are correct in that I prefer a dark base color whenever possible as I like the contrast it gives to just about any period I paint.The only exception is if I'm painting in the desert or very dry climates.The water effect or very muddy is done from time to time and normally as a theme. :wink:There are no water effects on these,but the base is dark as I prefer that.A matter of taste I suppose. :) As you figured out and implied the bricks are indeed a bit strong,but that was intended to add futher contrast to the mini's as sometimes this helps at such a small scale to bring out some color. :) Please always feel free to offer constructive criticism,I'm always willing to view helpful perspectives.Thank you for your input and advice. :D
