Keith, you know that we have played 6-7 games with these and none of my colleagues picked this up, despite the little face I put next to it :) We have been playing games with three blinds representing actual brigades and one variable blind per side. This means that the variable blind doesnt have too much impact. John

Ah OK :) So how do you represent a blind ? How close do you have to get to see what the blind contains ? If a blind is a brigade how big is it ? How fast can it move etc ?

keith, the blinds are half A4 cards with the contents of the brigade on one side and some French, Austrian or whatever flags on the reverse. I pinched all this from the TFL rules sets. How close you need to be depends upon terrain of course but at the closest in the open 60 cms. The blinds move 30cm if they are in march column or 15cms if deployed. The blind itself is turned shorter side towards the front if in march column or wider side forward if deployed. John

Ok thanks I might just try something like an advanced recon blind, Something like this You get 3 markers which must be in cover. These could represent a scouting unit such as light Cav or a company of skirmishers sent forward to scout out the enemy positions. Then roll on a table when the enemy get close to see what'a there , something like that ? The large blinds thing doesn't really work for me , most genrals had a telescope or light cavalry telling them where the enemy are deploying. It's the odd hidden unit , down the gully , covered my terrain etc that general's missed when they rode around themselves or relied on their light cav to tell them what was going on. What do you think ?

That sounds fine. The blind does become useful though when a brigade is behind a town, hill or wood. A Brigade Gen may not know what is behind those features and that is where the blind prevents the tabletop player seeing all andknowing all. john
