French Indian
Have been a fan of the de brigade school of thought for many a year now, My question is, has any one tried them for AWI or French Indian wars and if so what tweeks did they try, and of course did they work. Any help would be great, as I have just started painting my French (boo hiss) army

Tried them at the club when they first came out, and to be honest they were rejected by pretty much everyone. And I much prefer the 1/40 ratio and the feel of Die Kriegskunst.

Gents, We've actually used Die Kriegskunst for AWI games, both at 1:40 and 1:20 ratios. It seems a little quicker than British Grenadier, mainly because we don't use those fiddly Disruption Points (DPs).These DPs first made their apearance in AWI games with Loose Files and American Scramble, and I suspect "Eclaireur" based his mechanism on this earlier AWI set. As long as you rate the troops appropriately, you shouldn't have any problems using DKK's sYW mechanisms for the AWI. the french & Indian Wars presents more of a challenge. We deliberately limited the scope of DKK to the European theatre, to avoid clogging ther rules up with bolt-on extras covering Indians, Sepoys or such-like. However, feel free to adapt, and please, post the results on this discussion group, so we can all have a go! Angus Konstam www.edinburghwargames.com
