Their in the Way
I had a British Regiment fail a morale test and have to retreat. After retreating it ended an inch or so in front of another regiment from the brigade. The retreating regiment passed its rally test, but will be halted for a turn to re-organize. What option(s) does the fresh supporting regiment have? I know the rules forbid interpenetration, but it seems logical for the fresh regiment to step through the rallying regiment, even it it means taking a couple of DP's? What options exist within the rules to get the fresh regiment moving forward. And, what options would have existed in a real engagement for passing of lines? The two British regiments were sitting ducks for American artillery during this rally and traffic jam. Do you call them traffic jams in the UK? :) Thanks for any discussion and/or help Mike B

Mike, remember that if your troops are in Open Order, passage of lines is pretty straight forward. You are also allowed to reinforce melee through the unit in front too. Just put 1 DP on gthe advancing unit. For Close Order regts maybe try 2 DP on the advancing unit and 1 DP on the static or retreating one. EC
