Regiment of von bose
My next regiment in my guilford courthouse OOB Tried using the foundry 3 color paint system This is the last full unit on the british side. I now have both battalions of the guard, the 33rd, 71stst and 23rd, and tartelsons legion cav. and now the von bose. The only thing left on the british side is light infantry, a 3pdr gun and legion foot, while on the american side I still have many many regiments left.

Quite nice work gunfreak. Love the way you have selected your figures and composed them on their bases. However would like to have seen just a little more detail on the faces and it would have helped to bring them alive. If you have difficulty painting in eyes try cutting pointed ends off cocktail sticks till you have circles of the right shape. Then pay attention to your own eyes, their position in relation to each other, dip the end into brown, blue or green paint and voila - bob's yer uncle.......the chaps can see! Observe Silver's and Giles' figures of the period, how they put life into their troops and with practice and patience you'll get there. Promise! :? :( :o :) :D

GF; there is a visible improvement here, and as bk says the base composition is good. You are getting better - stick with it! Don't be afraid to go back and tidy-up if you've overpainted an area in another colour, I do it all the time. Looking forward to more posts from you. GJ

I find that if your bases and flags look good, then you are already halfway there to having a decent looking army on the table. You have achieved this on both the above points and your painting of the figures is coming along leaps and bounds. You should consider doing a few pictures of all your units together, as I am sure they would look the business in mass. If you are using the Foundry 3 x colour system, paint slightly less surface area with each layer, so that you are leaving some of the darker colour showing underneath which will give it more depth. This will work well on the white trousers where the darker grey will look like creases. Same applies for the face and you could miss the eyes out all together and just leave the dark flesh shade in the eye sockets, which works well. Hope this helps, but you can tell me to mind my own business if you like, as we all have our own style of painting. There is no right or wrong way and you do what works for you. Whatever your style it will continue to develop and improve and I look forward to seeing more, especially as it is AWI.

Gunfreak - you're getting better with every post. As others have said, good composition and basing takes you a long way with a unit, and you certainly have nothing to worry about in that respect.
