Sighted on the Way to Wagram
Below is my recently finished 'take' on the 1809 Hesse-Darmstadt Brigade, which formed the second brigade of Carra St.Cyr's 2nd Division of Massena's IV Corps. As Anthony Barton never sculpted the troops of Hesse-Darmstadt, these nominally 15mm figures have been selected from his 1806 Prussian, Saxon, and Bavarian ranges, and painted in H-D colours, with various necessary compromises required. Sadly, there was neither time nor skills to attempt even modest conversions. The figures are based on Litko (magnetic) bases, and are organised for the Wagram match at the end of October 2009, and so have been downsized by 33% from the historical OOB to fit the overall scaling constraints. The Guns: The Leib Regiment The Chevauleger Regiment The Leib-Garde Regiment (badly out of focus) Rear Details: Now, back to painting my 'regular-sized' 28mm Russians whilst I still have my eye-sight!
