Thank you gents you are very kind with your encouragment
talking of scales now Mr Chook is a bit of a problem in that he's my regular opponent mate and our games are conducted in a very congenial manner
The only problem is that of late he seems to be hankering for 6mm figs and has bought a few
He's likely to lead me down that slippery slope sometime so I'll have 28, 15s and 6s
Having said that at this moment in time the Eureka figs above constitute my collection of 28s along with a 1/2 painted 20 figs of so. I do however have a box of unopened Perry Brits courtesy of an WI subscription but I did have my attention brought to this victrix offering

VB,
Funny you should say that, I had an aversion to 28mm as I just don't believe you can play with figures this size, but seeing your photos has made me reconsider. I also saw some American Civil War Perry's at the local shop. This caused nostalgic feelings for my youth when I played with Timpo, Airfix and other 1/32nd scale Civil War and American Indians (or Native - or indiginous??- Americans as it is now). I don't know how many times I played Custers last stand. Back then Custer was a hero, now he would probably be seen as a rash incompetent who was racist to boot.
