weaker units
The rules state that you can combine two weaker units to form one and going with what the rules say a weak regt is 16 figures or less. My question is, can you combine a 16 figure regt with a 20 plus regt if that is the weakest regt that is either the only weak regt within the brigade or other weak regiments have already been combined into pairs what do you think of combining more than two regts?

In the ACW units continued to act independently until around 100 men or less when they were amalgamated with other reduced regts. The manpower represented by a 16 to 12 figure regt is what Sherman would describe as being in "fighting trim" for a mid-war period regiment. As wargames units these small regts looks less appealing visually but tactically are handier as in the real event. A 36 figure regiment is quite a whopping size by ACW standards!
