Hi all!
I am new here and thought I would give it a try. I have bought GaG last week and it seems like a nice pair of rules. But this basing... My plan is to do GaG in 28mm with Perry miniatures, the new ones in plastic. They are so good that it is worth starting a new project just to be able to use them. But how am i to base them? A front of 15mm is to small to fit the miniatures. I have a plan to base them on GW bases 40x40 and cavalry at GWs 50x50 and artillery on 50x50 to. Skirmishers I am thinking about putting on a GW 80x20 base with 2 or 3 figures a base. What do you all think about this? Also is there anyone that can suggest the size on the table to be able to play a normal sized game with two maybe three brigades a side? And last but not the least, I need scenarios for small scale actions is there anyone here that knows of any? Is the scenario book good and does it have small scenarios to?

Your basing system sounds fine , if you are doing both sides it doesn't really matter.
The scenario book is great , there are some smallish scenarios , but you'd still need quite a few regiments to play them. |

| I too have based my figs on GW bases as you suggest. I used skirmishers on single 20mm as they look less linear and you can rank them up with the larger bases. I find the square bases work well in changing formation to from coloum to maintain a good column length. You can check out pictures of them on the gallery section here. |

Hmmm I have seen the pictures and your suggestion to put some miniatures on singel bases 20x20 sound good and I will do that insted! That way I can as you say use the miniatures in the regiments and also use them as skirmishers and that must be a good thing.

| I use 36mm x 50mm bases for groups of 4 figures, i.e. the same size I use for "British Grenadier" AWI. That's mainly because (a) I have lots of these bases lying around and (b) I use Dixon figures which need a bit more space. Also, I don't really like having figures bunched up tightly on their bases - it makes the groundwork very difficult to apply.... |

| I've gotten my Perry miniatures to fit on 30x30 bases easily enough. Works fine aslong as you paint them first. |
