As the result of a game incident during a large GaG demo game run by our club last Sunday (Valhalla in Farnborough), the following question for clarification & confirmation:
An infantry unit, victorious in the previous Melee Phase (defender 'Retreated'), receives a "Pursue!" result from the ensuing Pursuit Test. It is now in the Compulsory Movement Phase of the following game-turn, and said infantry unit must pursue the defeated Retreating enemy unit. What is the pursuing unit's movement allowance, after taking any eligible 'Bonus Movement' (occupying ground, or wheeling 45*)?
Is it the Column Rate (20cms [10"]) because he is still Unformed as a result of the prior melee? {Rule 12.1, Definitions, 'Unformed', p. 44, seems to suggest this.}
Thanks in advance for any assistance! _________________ Bryce Allen |

B,
All units Pursue at the same speed at Retreaters and Routers, i.e. 20cms [12"] for infantry. Basically column (of mob) charge speed.
BTW - Do you have any photos of your demo game - a battle report would be much appreciated. 8)

Thanks for the clarification DB.
Several passers-by, and punters from the sponsoring club were taking snaps of the game throughout the day . . . I'll see if I can track some down for you. _________________ Bryce Allen |
