Foundry 28mm, painted as the 1st Battalion, Sofia Musketeer Infantry Regiment; flags by GMB, bases by Litko. (Time to paint--don't ask!)
Apologies for the crap photography, but by first go in 'natural daylight' with this camera.

| Superb painting. Using the natural daylight has really worked well, the pictures are spot on. 8) |

Just before heading off to the big General de Brigade Waterloo extravaganza last weekend, I managed to finish the next installment of my Russian 7th Division (1812): the 1st Battalion Libau (Libavskii) Infantry Regiment. Minor changes from the Sofias (above) include switching to a P3 'palette' for painting fleshtones (2nd & 3rd companies), a change to a less yellowy final olive highlight on the green jackets, the addition of NCO details for those stands without officers, and attempting to achieve more 'aggressive' contrasts on the trousers. No sunny skies for this photo shoot outdoors, sadly.
Figures: Foundry (Alan Perry, sculptor); bases: Litko, Siflor; flags - GMB Designs.

| Very, very nice indeed. I have never tried painting anything bigger than 15mm because I know that I could not do a decent job of them. Your work is amazing! |

Bryce,
They look fantastic - absolutely superb job on some great figures. Those damned Russian pompoms always had me stumped hopever the recent correspondence on the forum has helped sort out most of that confusion...I think.
Well done.

GS
lovely units, well done
Forgive the bone question, but I notice you have some tufts of longer grass in among the static grass on your bases. Where do you get those from ?

Thanks for the kind words everyone.
EC, those are the infamous 'Silflor Tufts' of which you speak. I typically use 6-8 per base (in two lengths & colours). I buy mine from Jed Norton 'oop North' at: http://www.barrule.com/Workshop/scratch%20builders%20paradise/Silflor.html .
The only problem is that once you try them, there's no 'going back'! _________________ Bryce Allen |

Thanks for the link Bryce, will definitely get some of those, as I've got 9 Brit AWI battalions I'm about to re-base |

Some belated shots of the recently completed 1st Bn. 36th Jägers Regiment, part of my 7th Infantry Division, VI Corps, of 1812 project. Foundry authentic Napoleonic Colours for 'Russian Green' was used as an experiment--bit of a change from the Musketeers shown earlier on this thread. Comment & critique welcome, as ever.
