Hi

Has anyone tried adapting these for Colonial medium/small battles yet.

There is already a Colonial version of GdB out there called The Gatling's Jammed. It includes army lists etc. and is designed for the bigger battles like Ulundi, not small unit actions like Rorke's Drift.

All,

Myself and Ec are working (albeit slowly) on a Colonial set of GdeB.

DB:

Does that mean The Gatling's Jammed is not an official GdB product?

Hi All

Thanks for your replies.

I have Gattlings Jammed and it looks OK for largest battles BUT I am looking for handling mid and smaller sized. Hence why I was looking to use fuller General DB trpe set

Also I cannot find any Web support for Gattlings Jammed and I tend to avoid unsupported rule sets these days [except those I write myself!!].

DCRBrown if you need some test playing then my group can possibly put together some games from our combined collections etc. We use General DB regularly and I an gaining experience with British Grenadier [Playing a 2 Day Brandywine game this weekend.

Thanks

Kelvin

EC,

I know the author, who asked to base his Colonial rules upon the GdeB format and from that came the Gatlings Jammed.

Technically it is part of the GdeB stable - but it’s very much its own product, so I suppose it’s housed in a separate section of the stables!!! Confused

A fully fledged GdeB Colonial is on the cards, but this will be aimed at a lower scale that The Gatlings Jammed, and more akin to British Grenadier!

Hi Dave

Scale for future Colonial rules looks idea wrt what I am looking for.

If you need test players then let me know.

Do you have any idea regarding basing as I have 100+ 20mm Zulu and 40 British that have to be re based and I would like to get the basing right first time!!

Am also being tempted by possibility of 28mm plastic colonial........

So little time so many scales!!

Thanks

Hi All

Any news on this as I am looking at doing Sudan 1880's and specific colonial may be better than the TaTG for this.

Thanks in advance

K,

Unfortunately not Evil or Very Mad

Even I have succumb to both work and domestic pressures, (I am currently under a strict punishment regime from Her Imperial Majesty that requires me to redecorate the entire house!! Mad Sad Crying or Very sad )

The old colonial is hold for the mo...Though someone is trying to distract me into ECW. However I must admit if there is something about which I know positively nothing it is the English Civil War...
