Due to the odd situation where a barrage can deviate but only to the left or overunder shot ie with modifiers I have been using a deviation die ala GW to decide on the deviation direction. I'd like to see this as a option for 2nd Ed - ie 1-4 deviates 5-6 hit. One of the best things GW ever produced easily replicated with a die with arrows painted on each side.

Yep - that's also included in 2nd Edition.
The standard rules for deviation can simply be replaced with a scatter die if players have one. Its straight forward & effective - and saves a great deal of rule writing!
