I have been reseraching the OOBs for the battle of Friedland.

Based on the established organization of three battlions per regiment for the Russian line/Frenaider units the Battlions come out rather small for GdeB. The Russian battlions end up with 18 figures.

Are battlions that small playable in GdeB or to you start to merge battlions to get a decent strength of 24-36 figures.

Looking at the scenario for Friedland in book 3 it appears they did just that. With the two of the Russian line units being only one battlion.

Just wondering how people adapt historical OOBs to suit the game.

Thanks

L,

I would suggest that small Russian battalions of around 350 or so are amalgamated into a single regiment and fielded as 32 figures.

I suspect that all such small battalions operated as a regiment - not only due to organization but also out of simple preservation!
