| If you have a french brigade with battalions of different grade (line reg 1st,2nd,3rd battalions and swiss 1st, 2nd,3rd battalions) do you have to combine them all into one unit and if you do what grade would they be? |

Your answer really lies on pages 35 & 36, a single brigade skirmish screen would be formed, for game purposes.
As regards the question of rating mixed skirmish screens, personally I would consider 1 of 2 options.
1. Rate the brigade skirmish line by the majority type, this simplify proceeings.
2. Maintain a single brigade skirmish line, but split it notionally into 1st and 2nd rate elements for determining fire effects, whilst perhaps appealing to the purest, I personally feel that this option would prove detrimental.
Hope this helps, perhaps someone else has a view on this? |

| Definately the first option. If you try and rate them individually, you'll be there all day - and still get it wrong ... |

Searching for Q&A i find this very old topic...but useful to my question!
It option 1 the only used by players?
Or there is another way to "grade" brigade skirmish screen.
Also...how about skirmish casualties if I recall the screen during the battle (a rarity..): wich battalion lost x model or entire light company? How to deal with this? |
