I am thinking about collecting up the figures and getting my gaming club into this period.
My question ius whats the smallest command that would still be interesting fro a game.
I was thinking a Brigade per player with about 4-6 players and myself umpiring/playing. Is this reasonable or could i go even smaller? _________________ cheers

Jason,
My first game of GatG was hosted by Eclaireur with DB and and another gentleman (I'm embarassed to admit I can't remember his name) who shared my interest in wine (actually I think that interest was universal amongst the four of us).
I commanded a cavalry brigade with attached artillery and had a fine old time. Each of us commanded a brigade as I recall, so four or five regiments each with associated artillery. We managed to fight to a conclusion in an evening.
The good thing is that the basing is pretty universal - I can use my figures for GatG, JRIII or FnF without any bother just by adding or subtracting stands.
