If you can get the "Bunker Hill" monograph by Col. Elting, it's excellent - but sadly rather rare (part of the Philip Freneau series published for the bicentennial, so possibly a little dated).
Now we are enemies, by Fleming, is very detailed.
The Osprey Campaign has extensive and detailed orbats, but covers the whole of the Boston campaign. _________________ You can lead a horse to water, but a toy soldier can no longer be lead (due to Health & Safety Regulations). |

The most vivid writing on Bunker Hill that I have come across is the section dealing with it in Mark Urban's 'Fusilier'...

Thanks for the tip on the others, but this book costs 515.00 Euro's!
It had better be more then excellent, more like a masterpiece to put in a glass case. This book is for the very serious collector indeed.I'm just a wargamer and interested in this period. That book is way out of my league, but I'm still grateful for the suggestions. |

Strewth - 515!!!!
I know his Saratoga book (in the same series) is rare as rocking horse wotsit, but I didn't realise this was in the same league. Suggest public library inter-loan might be your best bet.....

I have both of Col Elting's books on the Revolution and found both of them reasonably priced on abebooks.com. I found his Bunker's Hill recently and it was only $75.00 and well worth it. Both are rare but excellent and not dated to my mind.
There are other books in that series that I'm starting to pick up, but haven't received them yet.
Sincerely,
G |

Between you and Ronin I find myself very curious as to the contents of these books, but $75 is still expensive. How I'd convince the missus that this is wórth it is the question. |

Simple-buy the book or books and then throw yourself on the mercy of She Who Must Be Obeyed. It is much easier to get forgiveness than permission.
