Don't take any notice of those that don't believe in gods true scale.
It depends on how you want to play your games. You do not mention if the idea is to play on a small table or have more troops per base. In my G at G games I use standed basing with 2 ranks of 4 baccus, so 8 men per base and count inches as cm i.e 6" = 6cm and that works ok for me on smaller tables 72cm x 48cm.

"The Redcoats are coming!" I will have none of that historically accurate piffle. _________________ Then let us fill a bumper, and drink a health to those

I reckon the AWI is such a good war to game because the relatively small actions lend themselves to either armies with small numbers of troops (which is good for 28s and bigger) or armies that come closer to replacating the actual numbers involved (which is good for below 28s). Plus there's not much cavalry to paint no matter what way you approach it.
I'm trying to go with a 1;10 scale with my own collection in 10mm, I'd imagine that works in 6mm even more easily. Giles has sometimes talked about doing Guildford Courthouse or Bunker Hill in 1:1, which would be some sight! |
