More questions - I have had a brainstorm this evening
I was thinking about Russian tactics and wondered how the below scenario might work...or is it a 'gamey' tactic ?
Supposing I have 8 T34's in an Armoured Assault Group, each with 2 infantry units as tank riders close assaulting multiple German infantry to the front in the open. Can I claim a +5 for lead Tank + 7 for supporting tanks and + 16 for supporting debussed tank riders ?
Thats seems like a meaty attack to me.
I have relatively limited knowledge of the tactics used in WWII at this scale, did the Russians actually attack in this fashion ? Where can I find this kind of info ?
I welcome anyones thoughts on this.

Andy,
A meaty attack indeed but they would only all get to fight as one close assult if attacking a specific terrain feature.

I would suggest that the 8 unit limit counts ALL units in the attack...
..thus the tanks + the tank riders....
So you could get 4 lots of ( 2tanks with 2 tank riders each)......
I know that is only 6 units per command pip, but you must realise russkies only get 4 elements per pip anyway.....(mix up of terms (sic) there) _________________ Evil Dick ;-) |
